Rabbit Hole

I love a good rabbit hole, don't you? Not so much the conspiracy theory ones, they either make my skin crawl at the fact that they might be possible or they make my eyes do a full 360 in my head. Yesterday's rabbit hole was videos on YouTube of younger people reacting to certain songs for the first time. These guys have tens of thousands of subscribers on YouTube, and they literally are just filming themselves listening to a classic song, for the first time. Yeah, I lost a few hours last night doing that, it was addictive, especially as a fair few of my favourite songs were included. The two college students listening to Fleetwood Mac's The Chain for the first time, and really rocking out to it. How can you not know The Chain? Heathens. My favourite was a young lady called India and she had an eclectic mix. I loved her reaction to Tom Tom Club Genius of Love and her realisation that it had been sampled in a song from her childhood - Mariah Carey's Fantasy.

They actually make money from this. I see a business opportunity from this. How about flipping this around and have Mr G reacting to current songs? I can just imagine the comments. It's not rap this, it's crap. I don't like swearing in songs. She wants to put some clothes on, she'll catch her death...

Another rabbit hole I went down last night was Wish. With a coupon code. I may or may not have ordered five new tarot and oracle decks. It's so cheap! I didn't tell Mr G. I've just realised that I haven't put up a picture of my Tarot de la Nuit deck. It's so beautiful, I can't even put it into words. If I wasn't writing this on my PC, I would put in a heart eye emoji. I also need to finish off the first set of readings that I was doing with them. From the comments, I hit the Libra one on the head, anyway :-)  These are just a few of the cards, isn't the imagery beautiful? I love the Alice in Wonderland-esque 3 of Cups card. Appropriate really, considering the title of the blog post.

It's cold and gloomy and rainy. The heating went straight on when I woke. I actually had a good 5 hours sleep last night, which is a marked improvement on what I've been getting recently. We did an afternoon food shop yesterday and there was so much we couldn't get. Aldi looked like it had been ransacked. The shop itself was fully stocked but the fruit and veg aisle was decimated. No blueberries, spinach, onions. None of the bacon I like. I needed some things from Home Bargains and they were queuing halfway down the car park, so we drove in and straight out again. I won't go afternoon shopping again, so we need to go in a bit to complete our shop.

Today is (supposed to be!) a cooking day, so it'll be good to see what we manage to come up with between us. On the menu is vegetable soup for Mr G (perfect for a day like this), RecipeTin Eats pulled beef chilli for tonight (really looking forward to that) and a chicken saag for the freezer.
