4 down

Still no word from my absent, errant new lover... :-(

Slimming World is back on track, finally. Managed to lose 4 lb this week, Mr G lost 3 lb and called me a feeder in front of the group. That's the momentum I needed to get my weight loss back on track, I was a bit half assed with it last week, more determined not to add to the weight gain than concerned about how much I could potentially lose, and I'd have taken anything, even half a pound, as long as it was off. Seems I had one of those magical weeks where it fell into place, and I'm not resting on my laurels now. Really give it a big push now until Christmas. I can't see all that much socialising going on this year, either.

I am now 3 stone and 2 lb away from my target weight, and at the start of the year, I genuinely thought I would have had it in the bag by now. I set my target date for New Year's Eve 2020, so as not to put pressure on myself and allow for a few inevitable blips... well, I didn't bank on a ****ing pandemic, did I? That's a blip and a half. So, with four months until Christmas Eve... I'm wondering. If I really stick to it, like reeeeeeeeealllly stick to it... how far could I feasibly get by then? Seventeen weeks til Christmas Eve, eighteen til New Year's Eve... I'd have to lose in the region of 2.5 lb every week so we'll see. Because we could end up back in lockdown and I could end up eating and drinking my emotions again :-)

Tea today was Braised Steak in onion gravy that I cooked in the slow cooker, and it was lovely. Bacon and egg bap for lunch after group. Only used one syn today up to posting this, on cornflour in the gravy.

Tomorrow we have salmon on the menu, Mr G finishes work in the morning and he doesn't like to sleep straight away as it buggers him up in the evening, so hopefully we can get out somewhere for a walk and pick up some fresh salad and fruit. Wednesday I will have to go and source school uniform for the boys (FML). They are both in new uniform this year, but thankfully the school have seen sense and reverted back to a more traditional uniform. No more forking out a tenner for crap polo shirts with the school logo on that go grey within two months. Proper white shirt, clip on tie and grey jumper with the logo for the boy; and white shirt, sixth form tie and black jumper with the logo for the middle one. Still cost a bloody small fortune though, no doubt. The girl usually wants a new wardrobe for college too but she is inheriting her mother's love of preloved clothing, and picks up weird, wild and wonderful clothes in charity shops.
