The Hangover Part 4
Ok. So Wrexham didn't go quite according to plan. Remember the film The Hangover? Yeah, well Mr and Mrs 'We're not drinking this weekend'... ended up having starring roles in The Hangover Part 4. I woke up in Southport on Sunday morning, with a facial tattoo, a tiger, bigamously married to someone called George.
Fine, it wasn't quite that bad. Bad, but not that bad.
No, this isn't a picture of the fish and chips we had last week while camping, this is a picture of the fish and chips we had this week. Yes, it's gravy. Yes, I dunk my fish into it. Yes, I am an absolute scumbag.
The plan was to have a meal in The Fat Boar afterwards, but a) we decided to have a drink, and b) we were still so stuffed from lunch that there was no way we could have eaten anything.
It was a leetle bit messy, as you would expect, being end of season. First of all, Jonny Walker, Ste Wild, Alex Thompson and Simon Atherton were hanging up their boots. Secondly, we won, and finished seventh in the league.
I persuaded Mr G to have one pint at Queensway, he'd never had a drink there the whole time we've been playing there. And that, dear readers, is where it all started to go downhill. One pint there, one in The Fat Boar, several in The Crafty Dragon, and a friend persuaded us to 'have a coke in top 'Spoons on the way back to your hotel'. And this culminated in us getting to the hotel about half past midnight. Absolutely spannered. But all in all it was a fabulous day, the weather was beautiful, the result went our way, and we spent the evening with the players and the rest of our friends. It would have been worth taking the hit on the scales, because days and nights like that are so few and far between these days.
Anyway, weigh in today, and I lost 5.5 lbs! Mr G lost 2.5 lbs. So we both lost our last week's camping gain and an extra pound to boot! I am now in my fifth different stone bracket since I started, and I am absolutely raring to go from now until Christmas. I am so raring to go, in fact, that I have meal planned ahead for the next fortnight! Go me!
We have a new Slimming World Consultant - who is actually the old Slimming World Consultant from three years back, so quite a few faces already knew her and were very happy to see her back. She was very uplifting and motivational, and I feel very positive about the future.
So this week...
Monday: Steak and Mushroom Pie (made with the pizza base mix) oven chips, baby carrots and garden peas
Tuesday: Hawaiian Pizza Pasta Bake (recipe here) with cheesy garlic 'bread'
Wednesday: Lamb and Mint Hotpot with vegetables
Thursday: Blackened Pork Steaks with Salad and wholemeal pitta bread
Friday: Burger Salad, with fried onions, gherkin mayonnaise
Saturday: Gammon with Pineapple Salsa and potato salad
Sunday: Chicken Madras with Basmati Rice and Homemade Onion Bhajis
And my make aheads for the freezer this week include - falafel, a chunky vegetable soup, a tomato soup, a Chicken Balti Pie, some assorted baked oats for when we want something sweet, bhajis, hash browns and some Pinch of Nom Yorkshire puddings.
Five stone off before Christmas? Hmm... watch this space.

There's only one Jonny Walker... oh... wait... |
